RADVISION, Octasic to Present Session on Leveraging Video in an Enterprise Setting at ITEXPO

As video continues to stream across just about every medium, the day of leveraging video in an enterprise setting is now upon us.

 

Video in the enterprise is now a reality as early adopters are using video conferencing from conference rooms, laptops and mobile devices across a wide spectrum of industries.

 

According to James Awad, marketing product manager at Octasic (News - Alert) Inc. – Montreal-based provider of media and wireless modem processing silicon and software solutions –  it is no longer a question of how these services will be deployed but when.

 

Awad, along with Anatoli Levine, director of product management at RADVISION, will be speaking a session titled “Leveraging Video in an Enterprise Setting” at ITEXPO West 2009, to be held in Los Angeles from Sept. 1 to Sept. 3.

 

 “We’ve seen an explosion of video content on the Internet, and the uptake of video conferencing, but why can’t I access all this from my mobile phone yet? Why hasn’t this reached mass market adoption?” asks Awad in recent interview with TMCnet.

 

The talk is expected to address the remaining hurdles in developing efficient video gateways to support all these future services. The session also has a forward looking bent, according to Awad.

 

“Come find out what equipment you should be designing right now to address today’s needs in the video market,” he said.

 

Among other topics scheduled to be covered are the main hindrance of high-quality video services being too expensive. In order to reach mass market adoption, these services must be available at a reasonable cost, and at the touch of a button.

 

The speakers will also discuss how to create video applications designed for the enterprise setting.

 

The session is Thursday, Sept. 3 from 1:00PM to 1:45PM
