Leveraging Video in an Enterprise Setting
By Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor
Video conferencing is an exciting application for enterprises. But on the heels of a depressive economy, it’s a tough expense to justify.
“We all know the video revolution is upon us - but it seems to be arriving in spurts,” James Awad, marketing product manager of Ocstatic, Inc., said in a pre-ITEXPO (News - Alert) interview with TMC CEO Rich Tehrani.
At ITEXPO West, Awad, a panelist for Thursday’s educational presentation, “Leveraging Video in an Enterprise Setting,” at 1 p.m., will team up with Anatoli Levine (News - Alert), director of product management for RADVISION, to discuss what early adopters are doing with video conferencing – and when full-on services will be deployed on a larger scale for less.
For all those providers still waiting for the cost of delivering high-quality video services to drop, this discussion will uncover how to create effective video applications designed for the enterprise setting.
“We’ve seen an explosion of video content on the Internet, and an uptake of videoconferencing,” Awad told Tehrani, “but why can’t I access all this from my mobile phone yet? Why hasn’t this reached mass market adoption? This talk will address the remaining hurdles in developing efficient video gateways to support all these future services.”
