Increased customer demand for Wireless Internet communications will be the driving force for the next decade of Internet deployments. 4GWE’s White Spaces Summit will examine the potential for using unlicensed White Spaces spectrum to open up the wireless broadband pipe and offer an alternative to competitive wireless services as well as access to new ones.

The 4GWE Whitespace Summit, titled Exploiting Unlicensed Spectrum will provide attendees with a clear understanding of how this spectrum resource can be used to deliver new services and disrupt the entire wireless industry. The Summit will also explore the regulatory framework that the FCC will implement to manage White Spaces initiatives while identifying the potential for new broadband services based on these rules.

Many Wireless Industry leaders feel that the unlicensed White Spaces spectrum has huge potential to unleash a wave of innovation and provide advanced wireless broadband services to a growing market of Wireless Internet users. On the other hand, opponents feel that allowing use of this spectrum will interfere with digital TV signals and wireless microphones. The 4GWE Whitespace Summit will explore both sides of this argument and present attendees with an understanding of where and how this unlicensed spectrum can be exploited to offer new wireless services.
