Mushroom Networks' PortaBella(TM) Wireless Broadband Bonding Solution Awarded CONNECT's Most Innovative Product of 2008

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SAN DIEGO, CA, December 16 / MARKET WIRE/ --

Mushroom Networks, Inc. announced today that
its PortaBella one-sided wireless broadband bonding solution has been
awarded CONNECT's Most Innovative New Product (MIP) for 2008. Targeting
mobile offices, government agencies, first responders, transportation,
quick Internet deployments and areas where high-speed Internet connections
are unavailable, the PortaBella offers the fastest mobile Internet
connection available today by aggregating as many as five USB based
cellular data cards from any service provider or a combination of multiple
providers into a single shared connection.

"We are pleased that our team's forward thinking innovations and
engineering accomplishments have been recognized by such a prestigious
organization as CONNECT," stated Dr. Cahit Akin, co-founder and CEO of
Mushroom Networks. "This award is a further testament to the growing demand
in all major industries for extremely fast and reliable mobile-based
connections to the Internet which is still a very prevalent pain point."

CONNECT is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining
the growth of innovative technology and life science businesses in San
Diego. The organization is widely regarded as the nation's most successful
regional program linking inventors and entrepreneurs with the resources
they need for success. CONNECT's MIP Award for over 21 years has served
as a benchmark for predicting San Diego's most successful emerging
technologies. This year's MIP Award winners were selected from more than
100 entries representing a broad range of companies within eight specific
categories including: Wireless Communications, Aerospace & Security, Clean
Technology, Action & Sport Technologies, Hardware & General Technology,
Life Sciences (two categories), and Software & IT.

"In our current economic situation, creative leadership and innovation is
critical to San Diego maintaining its position as a global leader in the
technology and life sciences industries," said Duane Roth, CEO of CONNECT.
"The MIP winners are great examples of the many companies that keep our
region at the cutting-edge of technology."

Mushroom Networks' PortaBella is just one product in a long line of
solutions built with the company's proprietary broadband bonding
technology. In addition to equipment targeting the SMB and large
enterprise markets, the company recently announced their Broadband Bonding
Service, a hosted Internet bonding service enabling better than T1 speeds
through aggregating multiple Internet connections from any ISP with monthly

cost savings up to 70% compared to a traditional T1 service. The service
consists of a Mushroom customer premise equipment (CPE) unit housing up to
six broadband connections installed at the subscriber's site. All access
lines are then bonded together forming a single high-speed Internet
connection.

Mushroom Networks is actively pursuing channel partners to expand all of
their broadband bonding solutions and services to SMBs, enterprise
customers, service providers, and several targeted verticals. For more
