'Nokia Siemens upgrades Telenor's network in Denmark'
Nov 17, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) --
Telenor Denmark has selected Nokia Siemens Networks for a full upgrade
of its 2G and 3G radio network in Denmark. Telenor plans to use the
Nokia Siemens single radio access network technology to upgrade its
EDGE and HSPA/HSPA+ networks in Denmark. The network will also be ready
for LTE services. The agreement is for 6 years. Under the terms of the
six-year contract, Nokia Siemens will provide Telenor with an upgrade
to its 2G and 3G networks to provide nationwide EDGE, HSPA and HSPA+
services based on its award winning Flexi Multiradio base station. In
addition, Nokia Siemens will implement a new IP backbone network to
cater for the exponential growth in bandwidth that Telenor Denmark is
currently experiencing. Nokia Siemens Networks will also provide
project management, network implementation, planning and optimization
as well as software, hardware and competence development services to
Telenor Denmark.
