4G Wireless Evolution - Redline to Aid in $5 Million NOMOTECH WiMax Expansion

Redline Communications (News - Alert) Group Inc. today announced that NOMOTECH has selected its “WiMAX Forum Certified” RedMAX products for a $5 million broadband wireless network expansion.

France-based NOMOTECH, an alternative telecommunications network provider, says it will deploy Redline’s RedMAX products to establish a WiMAX network to cover more than 1,000 regions and municipalities in Brittany and the Pyrenees, and will deliver broadband wireless services to businesses and residents throughout those areas.

NOMOTECH officials say they plan to expand their network to reach capacity to serve millions of users with broadband access capabilities.

Redline’s RedMAX family of WiMAX (News - Alert) solutions includes a complete system, a qualification for receiving the WiMAX Forum Certified mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability.

Redline’s officials said that that their company’s carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U) supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling long-range wireless broadband networks. In addition, the RedMAX Management Suite enables operators to monitor and control the network, they say.

The RedMAX 4C, which is based on the WiMAX industry’s 802.16e-2005 standard for mobile WiMAX, supports a wide range of fixed, portable and mobile wireless services including support Voice and Video over IP, broadband Internet access used to support education, medical, transportation and municipal applications, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and other communications services.

NOMOTECH officials say the company believes that the RedMAX technology will enable it to accelerate its network deployment plans and provide higher levels of services compared to what other wireless technologies can offer.

Bruno Weinreich, chief executive officer at NOMOTECH, said that with the addition of Redline’s RedMAX products to its offerings, the company’s officials “are confident we can bring true broadband services to more areas than ever before and surpass our customers’ expectations for high quality, reliable service.”

“Redline’s proven RedMAX family, with its reliable high-speed connections and ability to support thousands of users per base station, ensures that NOMOTECH can quickly deliver the most advanced broadband services to in these key French territories,” added Kevin Suitor (News - Alert), vice president of marketing and business development at Redline Communications Inc.

In May 2008, NOMOTECH began the initial phase of its WiMAX network in North Brittany and Pyrenees regions, according to the company. The company will expand it to cover Brittany in 2009 and 2010.
