Voyager Mobile IPTV (

Earlier this month, USTelematics said that it has achieved an engineering breakthrough that will enable its Voyager Mobile IPTV product to display live TV on the pre-existing DVD and VCP video screens in place on nearly 40 million vehicles on the road in North America.
Howard Leventhal, CEO at USTelematics, believes that today and much more in the future, WiMax service will transform reception of video and live TV on the move.
Worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMax) is a telecommunications technology. This technology offers wireless transmission of data in a variety of ways, including point-to-point links and full mobile cellular-type access.
Leventhal expects his company to become a key player in getting WiMax deployed en masse as new WiMax services proliferate, such as those to become widely available in the recently announced Sprint, Clearwire, Google (

In May this year, Sprint and Clearwire combined their WiMax businesses to form a new venture that focuses on next generation broadband services. The company is backed by $3.2 billion from the likes of Intel, Google, Comcast (

Leventhal said that empowering live real broadband TV in the car is a unique capability of WiMax. He added: “We expect that our agreement with American Wireless to provide Clearwire service within Voyager will accelerate deployment of WiMax nationwide.”
