WiChorus (News - Alert) reportedly announced that ADC will be offering WiChorus’ SmartCore product line as a part of its WiMax products portfolio.

ADC – a company that enables connections for wireline, wireless, cable, broadcast and enterprise networks – is integrating WiChorus solutions with FlexWave Mobile WiMax. According to WiChorus, the technology is designed to make deployment and management of WiMax networks easy and efficient while offering new revenue-generating services.

According to WiChorus President and CEO Rehan Jalil (News - Alert), WiMax operators are seeking a competitive edge to differentiate themselves in the market.

“ADC’s FlexWave solution with WiChorus SmartCore technology, can deliver this competitive edge to operators,” Jalil said.

Along with the FlexWave Mobile offering, ADC is integrating WiChorus’ Intelligent ASN Gateway (News - Alert), Home Agent and Mobile Internet Gateway solutions.

Those solutions are based on what WiChorus officials call a “SmartCore” platform, which is designed help operators to deploy smart WiMax and LTE (News - Alert) networks with better service and subscriber management, content management and network optimizations.

WiChorus officials say the solutions can deliver 4G performance, network optimizations, content monetization, peer-to-peer traffic management, advanced accounting and charging, extensive QoS and seamless mobility.

Operators can realize several advantages, streamlining operational costs as well as making money off of their Internet offerings, company officials say.

ADC says its network infrastructure equipment and services enable high-speed Internet, data, video and voice services suitable for residential, business and mobile subscribers. WiChorus provides scalable core platforms for 4G networks.

The companies have collaborated in the past, as part of the so-called “One Open WiMax” initiative, which is designed to ease interoperability of solutions that make use of an open R6 interface. The solutions are based around an open standards system that’s designed to give operators high flexibility and more innovative solutions.
