A mobile Internet strategies provider
reportedly has deployed integrated Web and multimedia content adaption solution for the Hungarian arm of the world’s largest mobile telecom network company.
Officials at
Bytemobile, Inc., whose U.S. headquarters are located in Mountain View, California, say they’ve upgraded mobile data services for
Vodafone Hungary Ltd., improving services to deliver the open Internet to nearly all wireless handsets.
According to Adrian Hall, chief marketing officer at Bytemobile (

“The Web Fidelity Suite of applications was designed in partnership with our customers to enable the next generation of mobile Internet applications on feature phones and smartphones,” Hall said. “We are pleased to continue working strategically with Vodafone (

Officials at Vodafone Hungary say they first deployed the so-called “Bytemobile Optimization and Services Node” software in 2003, and most recently added the Web Fidelity Suite of applications. The OSN is a smart optimization solution that’s designed to reduce data volume in the network, increasing capacity while accelerating downloads and uploads, even as traffic continues to rise.
The Bytemobile follows another major announcement,
reported by TMCnet today, that
Vodafone UK has been
awarded a $7.3 million contract from
National Grid to provide mobile voice and mobile data network in the United Kingdom for the next three years.
National Grid’s business includes a high voltage electricity system in England and Wales and the company operates the system across Great Britain. It also owns and operates a high-pressure gas transmission system and four gas distribution networks, delivering gas to 11million homes and businesses in England.
According to National Grid, Vodafone UK was the first choice which demonstrated a robust and resilient mobile voice and mobile data network that meets the high standards required to maintain the organisation’s business continuity strategy.
Peter Kelly, Enterprise Director for Vodafone UK, said that the company conducted stringent testing to prove our network capabilities could meet and exceed National Grid’s expectations.
“We are pleased that a company that is so essential to the UK’s energy supplies is relying on our network to ensure their workforce is mobile and able to operate, safe in the knowledge that we can connect them reliably to the information they need, wherever they are,” Kelly said.
Meanwhile, Vodafone Hungary’s product marketing manager, Levente Lovas, said that as a partner since 2003, Bytemobile has continually impressed the company with its customer-centric approach to integrated solutions.
“Our most recent deployment of web and media adaptation will enhance our ability to deliver a consistently rich, fast experience across all content on all devices,” Lovas said. “The excellent working relationship between the two companies ensured the success of the project, and we look forward to continuing our mutually productive partnership.”
