WARID Telecom in Uganda Picks AIRCOM
TMCnet Contributor WARID Telecom in Uganda has picked AIRCOM International to provide network planning and optimization support for its existing GSM and WiMAX (News - Alert) networks.
AIRCOM’s ASSET network planning and optimisation tool will help WARID to enhance the design, management and performance of both networks. As a result WARID will be able to deliver better service to customers and reduce network costs through professional network planning.
WARID Telecom already shares a successful business relationship with AIRCOM (News - Alert) and thus decided on deploying ASSET, a popular network optimisation tool. Under agreement, AIRCOM will also provide consultancy support and training to WARID’s engineering teams.
Danish Hussain, head of Engineering, Warid Telecom Uganda believes that ASSET will minimize their dependency on vendors in terms of rollout/expansion planning and will also help them maintain the quality of network. AIRCOM offered the best available solution which is completely aligned with their current and future planning requirements.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with AIRCOM as we grow our subscriber base and continue to deliver the highest levels of service to our customers,” he added.
Warid’s Country General Manager, Zul Javaid pointed out that their company aims to provide world class service in an affordable way to address Uganda’s growing telecommunication needs. They expect their Uganda operation to act as a benchmark for new trends, state-of-the-art technology, high quality of service and customer care and believes ASSET will help them achieve this strategy.
Graham Kemp, MD, Africa, AIRCOM International noted that WARID Telecom has enjoyed immense popularity in delivering mobile services and connectivity in Uganda.
“Now as WARID prepares to roll out WiMAX services across the country, AIRCOM is delighted to be able to contribute to this ongoing success and growth with expert consultancy and insight, and also market-leading tools such as ASSET,” he added.
AIRCOM International is expanding its customer base in South Africa. Recently, MTN Group, a South Africa-based multinational mobile telecommunications company signed a deal with AIRCOM International, to provide network optimization tools to its base in Uganda.
AIRCOM’s DATASAFE tool will help MTN (News - Alert) to manage the ongoing re-configuring and updating of radio nodes within the network to maintain the high quality of network service.
