MediaG3, Inc. Intros Imperial Wireless IW4G Mobile Broadband Internet Service in OregonTMCnet Contributor MediaG3, Inc., a technology company that provides broadband wireless products and WiFi/WiMAX (News - Alert) wireless services, is reportedly launching its services in Portland, Ore., under the brand name of Imperial Wireless as part of its expansion plan.
The company presented an addressable market, demographics, and estimated revenue metrics for broadband internet services in the Portland metro markets, which estimates a potential subscriber base of 578,000 users in the area. The metrics says 74 percent of households in this area have been using broadband and wireless services, while the household base of available broadband and wireless subscribers is 427,720. The company has estimated subscribers' revenue is more than $1.06 million a year initially.
Imperial Wireless IW4G by MediaG3 is the new WiMAX broadband service that offers a customer experience that is similar to that provided by Wi-Fi, but without the short range limitations of a traditional Internet hot spot. It is based upon a wireless 4G technology that provides service areas measured in miles, not feet. IW4G offers the users an average mobile download speeds of 3 to 6 mbps with bursts over 10 mbps.
IW4G features a simple and flexible pricing model, offering its mobile and residential plans to be purchased by the day or by the month. The home Internet service plans provided by IW4G begin at a price of $25 per month, while mobile Internet plans start at $35 per month. Customers can purchase a convenient day pass for $10, allowing them to enjoy the service for a single day.
According to Val Westergard, chairman, MediaG3, Inc., Imperial Wireless is excited to bring its IW4G WiMax Super Fast Mobile Broadband and Internet Phone (News - Alert) Services to Portland residents, which will offer them the super fast mobile Internet experience at home or the office, anywhere around town or on the go. Westergard said that MediaG3 is pleased to provide this community a valuable new category of Internet service designed to make people's lives more enjoyable and more productive, wherever they happen to be in company’s coverage area.
To enhance the service plan, MediaG3 is using 30 carrier grade cellular towers, which were successfully acquired earlier this year and will be used to support the network expansion in selected key markets throughout the United States.
