WIRELESS BACKHAULThe need for data backhaul began in earnest with the explosion of WiFi hotspots, especially as cellular carriers increased their use of long-range wireless broadband to deliver voice and data back to their networks. Wireless backhaul solutions, generally speaking, are point-to-point, high-speed broadband connections of 2 Mbps to 1 Gbps. Most commonly, microwave and satellite systems are used, and they’re typically set up so that systems can be used together with other point-to-multi-point equipment.
