Turkcell inks US$285 mln loan deal for 2G, 3G equipment
ISTANBUL, Jul 3, 2009 (Asia In Focus via COMTEX) --
TURKCELL, Turkey's biggest
mobile-phone operator, said Wednesday it has signed a US$285
million loan deal to purchase technological equipment and
services from Sweden's ERICSSON for its 2G and 3G investments.
The loan will be used in financing part of the company's
planned US$750 million purchase to invest in 2G and 3G
infrastructure, Turkcell said in a statement.
* Turkcell said the loan was mediated by CALYON CREDIT
AGRICOLE BANK and NORDEA BANK AB, and it will be guaranteed
partly or entirely by the Swedish Export Credits Guarantee
Board.
* Turkcell last November won a tender for Type A 3G (40 MHz)
mobile communication system license for 358 million Euro.
